Early Monday morning we found ourselves back at Christchurch airport about to board a flight to Wanaka.
It was a beautiful day in Christchurch as we boarded the smallest plane ever made, and the flight to Wanaka was spectacular.
We reached the airspace above Wanaka and round and round we went- we circled above Wanaka for about 30 minutes before being told that landing wasn't going to happen and we were going back to Christchurch.
It will forever be known as the little plane that couldn't...
An hour and a half later we were back on a plane this time to Queenstown where from there we would be bused to Wanaka.
The flight to Queenstown was even more spectacular.
And thankfully this was the little plane that could!
When we got to Queenstown the first thing we saw were the Remarkables Mountain Range - a truly stunning sight.
A short one hour bus ride - with some beautiful scenery...
And we were in Wanaka our home for the next 5 days.
