Queenstown is like Wanaka on steroids - it is bigger, bolder but not necessarily better.
We started our time here in Queenstown at Fergburger. For the uninitiated: Fergburger is the best burger joint in the Southern hemisphere (if not the world) - so it is said. Having now eaten at the Fergburger twice in two days, I can tell you they are impressive burgers!
This place is an institution here in Queenstown. It opens at 8.30am each morning and closes at 5am. The wait on food can be anywhere up to an hour and most people are happy to wait.
Queenstown sits on the edge of a very large lake. The weather here has not been good over the last few days however this afternoon the sun came out and we got big patches of blue sky.
Right on the edge of the town is the Queenstown Botanical Gardens.
What is so amazing about these - other than the beautiful gardens - are the views. The Gardens are planted on a peninsular so we walked through the gardens to the end of the point to see the views.
After two days in Queenstown we are on the move again. We are moving to Te Anau to cruise Doubtful Sound.......
